A Journey of Prayer for My Children

Day 2 Humility is... developing spiritual greatness through servitude.

Matthew 23:11-12
11The greatest among you will be your servant. 12For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Lord, it's a hard thing to learn how to put others above yourself and serve them with a willing heart in true humility.
Create in their hearts a receptiveness to the opportunities in their lives that help them to apply this principle.
Reveal to them that real character is being able to humble themselves before You and others.

Luke 22:26
26But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.

Father, allow them to catch a vision of what Christ means when He says the greatest is like the youngest and the one who rules like the one who serves.
May they desire to develop this attitude in their own lives and recognize ways they can grow in this regard.

Help them see in me, a continually humbling attitude. For example: entrusting myself to You with those in Your church. In order to become more like You, I will look at those around me and become a student after Your own heart, by watching how those within the church seek to be like You.
