Psalm 78:7-8 (NIV)
7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.
8 They would not be like their forefathers—
a stubborn and rebellious generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him.
Father, it is Your own Spirit that teaches us through Your Word.
I pray they would yield to Your instruction.
Please protect them from developing a stubborn or rebellious spirit.
May they be a spiritual sponge, soaking up Your truth.
Daniel 1:8
8 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
Lord, You alone know the circumstances my children will face on any given day.
I lift them before You and pray that they begin preparing their hearts to be
faithful to You alone-
no matter what circumstances they find themselves to be in.
Father, begin to develop in them the courage and conviction to be a Daniel in his
generation.
