Cultivating Contentment

Though the fig does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop falls and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go to the heights.
Habakkuk 3:17-19

Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them,
to accept his lot, and be happy in his work- this is a gift of God.
He seldom reflects on the days of his life,
because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.
Ecclesiastes 5:19, 20
